Recent forecasts from multiple models point to a cooler day in Cape Town on September 26 driven by strengthening southerly winds advecting cooler maritime air from the South Atlantic, combined with increased cloud cover and scattered showers that limit daytime heating. These conditions, tied to an approaching frontal boundary, favor daily maxima clustered around 18–20°C, aligning with the market’s tight distribution between 19°C and 21°C. Historical September averages near 18–19°C provide context, while model spread in wind strength and timing of any clearing introduces the modest uncertainty reflected in current trader positioning. Updated runs from agencies like the South African Weather Service and global ensembles will refine these thresholds ahead of resolution.
