This positioning stems from a building high-pressure ridge promoting downslope warming and adiabatic compression typical in the Front Range, following yesterday's milder conditions around 67°F. Historical May data at KDEN (1991-2020 normals) indicate average highs of 68°F, with only 1% of days below 52°F, underscoring the scientific certainty. Realistic challenges include an unforeseen cold front surge or persistent low clouds suppressing daytime heating, though current guidance and ensemble models deem these low-risk; monitor hourly ASOS observations and midday NWS updates for confirmation.
