Recent U.S. equity performance has kept the S&P 500 near 7,350–7,500 amid resilient corporate earnings growth, particularly in technology and AI-related sectors. Key near-term catalysts include the August 3 ISM manufacturing PMI and construction spending data, followed by the July employment report, hourly earnings figures, and productivity release on August 7, which could shift rate-cut expectations and volatility measures. Analyst year-end 2026 targets cluster around 7,600–8,000, reflecting projected EPS growth of roughly 13–25 percent, though August seasonality and any surprises in labor-market or inflation readings introduce uncertainty around weekly closing levels. Market-implied odds will aggregate trader positioning ahead of these releases.
