In the ATP Challenger Sarasota Open on green clay at IMG Academy, No. 291 Duje Ajdukovic faces No. 254 Darwin Blanch in a round-of-16 clash scheduled for April 9, with no prior head-to-head meetings. Ajdukovic, a 25-year-old Croatian with a career-high of 105, advanced past Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg 2-0 earlier this week, showing solid clay form after a quarterfinal run in a prior event. The 18-year-old American Blanch, a rising lefty talent peaking at 253 last month, notched a straight-sets win over Federico Agustin Gomez, buoyed by home-crowd support and recent qualifier upsets like toppling Jan-Lennard Struff in Miami. Clay suits both, but Blanch's youth and momentum contrast Ajdukovic's experience; expect a competitive battle influenced by Florida's warm conditions and potential rain delays.
