Felipe Meligeni Alves enters as the clear trader favorite in this Sao Leopoldo Challenger first-round clay-court matchup against Joaquin Aguilar Cardozo, driven by a substantial ATP rankings gap—Alves at No. 240 versus Aguilar's No. 540—and home-country advantage in Brazil. As the No. 8 seed, the 28-year-old Brazilian boasts superior Challenger-level experience on clay, despite a middling 41% win rate over the past year amid recent early exits in South American events like Rio. The 20-year-old Uruguayan qualifier counters with a stronger 66% win clip from ITF Futures, but lacks head-to-head history or top-tier pedigree. No injury concerns or withdrawals reported; clear weather expected with no major disruptions anticipated.
