Sebastian Baez holds a significant edge over Vilius Gaubas in their Bucharest Open Round of 32 clash on clay, buoyed by his top-50 ATP ranking, superior surface history, and points to defend from last year's final run. Baez, a baseline grinder with elite clay stats like high second-serve points won, shifts from recent hard-court struggles—early exits in Indian Wells and a Miami second-round loss to Adam Walton. Gaubas, hovering near No. 105, impressed with his first ATP-level win in Santiago earlier this year but lost 7-6(2), 6-2 in Murcia's opening round days ago, exposing serve vulnerabilities on slow clay (court speed 0.42). No head-to-head exists; traders weigh Baez's defensive prowess against Gaubas' power in potential rallies, with no injury concerns reported ahead of today's Central Court matchup.
