Rising Spanish prospect Martin Landaluce, ranked No. 105, enters this Monza Challenger round of 16 clash on clay with momentum from a breakthrough Miami Masters quarterfinal run last month, where he upset Karen Khachanov and Sebastian Korda before falling to Jiri Lehecka, plus a gritty 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 first-round win over Federico Arnaboldi here. Veteran Italian Marco Cecchinato, No. 188 and a clay-court specialist playing before a home crowd, advanced past Sandro Kopp 4-6, 6-1, 7-6(4) in R1, holding a 15-9 record this year. Landaluce leads their head-to-head 1-0, fueling trader consensus on his edge despite Cecchinato's surface affinity and experience; no injury concerns reported ahead of this pivotal matchup for Landaluce's top-100 push and Roland Garros qualifying hopes.
