Alvaro Guillen Meza holds a significant ranking edge at No. 226 ATP over Pedro Sakamoto's No. 437 in the Campinas Challenger second-round clash on clay, driving trader consensus toward the 23-year-old Ecuadorian despite the Brazilian veteran's home advantage. Guillen Meza advanced past qualifier Franco Ribero 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 yesterday, showing resilience after dropping a set, while 32-year-old Sakamoto dispatched compatriot Joao Schiessl 6-4, 6-4 in straight sets. With no head-to-head history, Guillen Meza's youth, career-high No. 175 peak, and superior clay win percentage (around 59%) outweigh Sakamoto's experience and crowd support; no injuries reported pre-match, though weather remains a neutral factor on outdoor courts.
