Letitia James holds a commanding position as the Democratic incumbent seeking a third term in the November 3, 2026, New York Attorney General election, with trader consensus reflecting her established statewide profile and the party's structural advantages. Recent polling, including an August Siena survey of likely voters, shows her leading Republican nominee Saritha Komatireddy 54% to 36%, underscoring James's favorability edge and the challenger's limited name recognition. Komatireddy, a former federal prosecutor, has centered her campaign on law-and-order themes and criticism of bail policies, drawing an endorsement from President Trump, yet New York has not elected a Republican to the office in over three decades. These factors, alongside the absence of competitive primaries in June, reinforce the current implied probabilities ahead of the general election.
