In the ATP Challenger Mexico City quarterfinals on outdoor clay, seventh-seeded Luka Pavlovic (200 ATP) faces local hopeful Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez (270 ATP), a 20-year-old lefty Mexican riding momentum from a recent three-set win over qualifier Bor Artnak. Pavlovic advanced via his own grinder, outlasting Aidan Mayo 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(8), showcasing resilience at high altitude where the ball flies faster. Pacheco holds the head-to-head edge, defeating Pavlovic 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 last week in San Luis Potosi Challenger, but Pavlovic's experience (26 years old, career-high 184) and clay form give him a slight ranking edge. Home crowd support and Pacheco's youth could fuel an upset in this evenly matched battle, with no reported injuries.
