Local wildcard Valentin Vacherot has fueled trader interest with a historic run at the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters, upsetting Lorenzo Musetti in the second round and rallying past Hubert Hurkacz 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-4 yesterday to become the first Monegasque in the quarterfinals, logging nearly 7.5 hours on clay over four days amid limited recovery. Fifth seed Alex de Minaur advanced steadily, defeating Cameron Norrie and qualifier Alexander Blockx 7-5, 7-6(4) in the third round for his first Masters 1000 quarterfinal on clay. No head-to-head exists; Vacherot thrives with home crowd support and resurgent clay form, while de Minaur's superior speed and ranking provide edges, though fatigue could tilt dynamics on Court Rainier III.
