Databricks' July 16, 2026 announcement of a strategic funding round at a $188 billion valuation—led by Coatue and expected to close this summer—has established a clear lead over Stripe's February 2026 tender offer mark of $159 billion, driving the 77.5% market-implied probability that Databricks holds the higher valuation on December 31. Traders cite Databricks' >65% year-over-year revenue growth to a $5.4 billion annualized run rate, AI product momentum exceeding $1.4 billion, and positive free cash flow as fundamental support for the re-rating, while Stripe's $1.9 trillion payment volume and profitability provide a strong but now trailing benchmark. With both companies remaining private, upcoming catalysts include potential secondary tenders, IPO filings, or further equity rounds that could adjust marks before year-end resolution.
