Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance shows Los Angeles area highs on September 8 settling in the mid-to-upper 80s at coastal stations such as LAX after Sunday’s rain and elevated humidity from Hurricane Marie’s distant remnants clear. Onshore westerly flow and partial marine-layer influence are expected to limit further warming, keeping most official readings below 90 °F while still allowing the daily maximum to reach 86–87 °F under partly cloudy skies. Ensemble spreads remain narrow for this short-range period, but small differences in cloud timing or wind speed could shift the peak by a degree or two, which is why the two leading market bins sit so close together. Historical September averages near 76–77 °F underscore how this post-storm warming episode has already lifted probabilities for the upper end of the typical range.
