This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the San Francisco International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 26 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=ksfo This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data is unavailable or missing for the observation period, Weather Underground will be used as the secondary resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.Forecast models from the National Weather Service indicate partly cloudy conditions for San Francisco on August 26 with highs in the low to mid-70s, driven primarily by a moderate marine layer and variable onshore flow that limits full afternoon warming. San Francisco's coastal location exposes it to the cold California Current and persistent upwelling, which typically caps late-August daily maxima near 68–70°F; trader emphasis on 74–77°F outcomes reflects uncertainty over marine layer thickness and the timing of any fog burn-off under the Central Valley thermal low. Differentiation among the closely matched 74–77°F and 78–79°F bins hinges on subtle shifts in wind direction or inversion strength, which could allow brief clearing and extra solar heating before the afternoon sea breeze returns. Historical climatology shows such temperatures occur on roughly 10 days per August when the marine influence weakens slightly, while stronger fog or sustained westerlies would favor the lower 72–75°F range. Updated model runs and morning observations on the 26th will clarify these variables ahead of market resolution.
