Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to a minimum temperature in central NYC near 58–60°F on September 15, driven by clear skies overnight and a light northerly to easterly flow following Monday’s frontal passage. Radiational cooling under mostly clear conditions and dew points in the mid-50s will allow temperatures to fall steadily after midnight, with the daily low likely occurring just before dawn. Minor differences among guidance arise from small variations in boundary-layer mixing and exact wind speeds, keeping the 58–59°F and 60–61°F bins nearly tied in market-implied odds. Updated model runs and the 00Z–06Z NWS forecast discussion on September 15 will provide the final observational constraints before resolution.
