In the ATP Challenger Wuning 2 round of 16 on outdoor hard courts, higher-ranked Mikhail Kukushkin (No. 283) holds trader consensus edge over Blake Ellis (No. 531) due to his veteran experience, superior break-point conversion (36% vs. 22% in first round), and stronger 2026 record (20-12 overall). Both advanced yesterday via gritty three-set comebacks—Kukushkin rallying past Jie Cui 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 with 71% first-serve points won, and Ellis edging Linang Xiao 4-6, 7-6(6), 6-4 behind 18 aces and 86% first-serve efficiency—potentially setting up a baseline battle testing endurance. No head-to-head history exists, with Ellis' potent serve offsetting weaker second-serve defense (45% points won) against Kukushkin's steady returns; no injury concerns reported.
