Hamad Medjedovic arrives at this Barcelona Open round of 16 clash on surging momentum after stunning No. 3 seed Alex de Minaur 6-3, 6-4 in the second round—his second career Top 10 victory and first on clay—extending a nine-of-10 match win streak across surfaces. Qualifier Medjedovic (ATP No. 88) has a modest ATP clay record at 38.5% but flashed improved baseline play and serving against de Minaur. Nuno Borges (No. 52), higher-ranked with steadier experience, advanced via straight-set wins over Adrian Mannarino and Tomas Martin Etcheverry, though his 2026 ledger sits at 9-12 following an early Monte Carlo exit. No head-to-head history exists; traders parse Medjedovic's hot form against Borges' ranking edge on outdoor clay.
