In the Tallahassee Challenger's second round on clay, No. 296-ranked Hynek Barton faces qualifier Garrett Johns (ATP 392) in their first head-to-head matchup, with the contest set for April 15. Barton advanced by outlasting American Bruno Kuzuhara 2-1 in a gritty first-round decision, building on his career-high ranking from February and solid recent Challenger form. Johns, riding home-crowd momentum, cruised past Colton Smith 2-0 after qualifying triumphs over Daniel Dutra da Silva, showcasing strong baseline play suited to the surface. Barton holds the ranking edge and experience, but Johns' fresh legs from fewer main-draw sets could fuel an upset; no injury concerns reported as traders weigh stylistic matchup on slower clay.
