The S&P 500 traded in a tight range near record levels during the week of August 24, 2026, opening at 7,652.86 on Monday before climbing to close at 7,730.99 on Thursday amid Nvidia’s strong earnings beat and upward revenue guidance, which lifted semiconductor and AI-related shares. Core PCE inflation data released midweek aligned with expectations at 3.3% year-over-year, while broader market sentiment reflected caution ahead of the August jobs report and Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s Jackson Hole address emphasizing inflation risks. Year-to-date gains stood near 12%, with implied volatility subdued and Treasury yields rising modestly on policy hawkishness signals. Traders are monitoring labor-market strength and any shifts in rate-hike probabilities for the September FOMC as key swing factors for near-term index direction.

Only prices achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange on which the listed security trades (typically 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET) will be considered. Prices occurring during pre-market or after-hours trading will not qualify.

The target price will be adjusted proportionally to reflect any stock splits. Resolution will be based on the historical price data as shown on Pyth after any adjustments have been applied.
The resolution source for this market is Pyth — specifically, the S&P 500 (SPY) "High" and "Low" prices available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.SPY%2FUSD, with the chart settings configured for 1-minute candles.
