Dennis Weilmann, the incumbent CDU Lord Mayor since 2021, holds the strongest position in the September 13, 2026, Wolfsburg mayoral election due to his established record on local economic issues tied to Volkswagen and municipal governance. Traders assign him the highest implied probability among named candidates, reflecting his incumbency advantage and limited visible opposition momentum in Lower Saxony municipal voting. Lower-priced alternatives such as Thomas Schlick, Jens Hortmeyer, and Andreas Klaffehn appear to represent opposition or independent challengers facing structural barriers in a contest where voter turnout and party mobilization typically favor established officeholders. With roughly six weeks until election day, no major late developments have shifted the consensus, though final ballot qualification and campaign intensity could still influence residual outcomes.
