Official National Weather Service forecasts point to a high near 73°F in San Francisco on September 24 under mostly sunny skies and light west-southwest winds, aligning with the market's tight clustering around 70-75°F. This outlook reflects seasonal norms near the 70.8°F climatological average for the date, tempered by typical marine layer influences and urban heat island effects that can shift peak readings by a few degrees across microclimates. Model consensus shows limited spread, with minor variations in cloud cover or wind timing potentially determining whether the daily maximum lands in the 70-71°F or 74-75°F bin. Traders weigh these factors alongside historical variability, where recent Septembers have ranged from the mid-60s to upper 70s, underscoring the value of real-time updates from NWS point forecasts before resolution.
