Recent National Weather Service forecasts highlight marine layer development and southwest winds of 5–15 mph overnight as the key drivers cooling Los Angeles, with lows projected in the mid to upper 60s amid patchy fog after 11 p.m. This aligns with trader emphasis on 65°F or below at 43% implied probability, consistent with historical August climatology where coastal advection often produces sub-70°F readings despite daytime highs near 82–95°F under a lingering heat advisory. Model consensus shows modest spread around 68–73°F ranges, reflecting variable fog timing and wind gusts up to 20 mph that could limit or enhance radiative cooling. Updated NWS briefings through the evening remain the next critical input for refining these market-implied odds.
