Redistricting approved by Florida’s Republican-controlled legislature and signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis shifted Florida’s 9th Congressional District southward and eastward, incorporating more conservative counties including Indian River, Highlands, Glades, and Okeechobee while reducing its share of heavily Democratic Orange County and its large Puerto Rican population. This map change moved the seat from a prior Democratic stronghold to one rated Likely Republican by Cook, Inside Elections, and Sabato’s Crystal Ball. Incumbent Democrat Darren Soto advanced unopposed through the August Democratic primary, while Dan Green narrowly won the crowded Republican primary. A late-August poll showed Green and Soto tied at 41 percent. With the November 3 general election approaching, traders assign the Republican nominee the leading probability based on the altered district composition and resulting partisan tilt.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
