Key absences include Padres starters Joe Musgrove (elbow) and Griffin Canning (Achilles) plus relievers Jeremiah Estrada (elbow) and Yuki Matsui (groin), while Angels miss third baseman Anthony Rendon (hip, 60-day IL), closer Kirby Yates (knee), and setup man Ben Joyce (shoulder), straining late-inning reliability amid thin rotations.
