Incumbent Republican Max Miller faces Democratic challenger Brian Poindexter in Ohio’s 7th congressional district on November 3. Late July reports of spousal and child abuse allegations from Miller’s ex-wife sharply eroded his support in a district redrawn after 2024 and rated R+5 by the Cook PVI. Multiple August polls showed Poindexter ahead by double digits or narrower margins among likely voters, prompting forecasters including Cook, Inside Elections, and Sabato’s Crystal Ball to shift the race from Solid or Likely Republican to Toss-up. Poindexter’s union ironworker background and council experience have helped consolidate Democratic and working-class support, while Miller’s personal legal and reputational challenges have depressed Republican turnout expectations. These developments have produced the current trader consensus favoring the Democratic nominee.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
