Tomas Martin Etcheverry enters as the clear trader favorite against Terence Atmane in their Rolex Monte Carlo Masters round-of-32 clash on clay, buoyed by his straight-sets upset over Grigor Dimitrov in the first round yesterday and strong recent clay form including a Houston quarterfinal run last week. The Argentine world No. 30 boasts superior clay-court experience with multiple deep runs at ATP Masters 1000 events on the surface, while French riser Atmane, after a dominant 6-1, 6-4 win over Ethan Quinn, rides momentum from a Miami fourth-round exit but holds a less proven 3-5 lifetime clay record at this level. No head-to-head exists; factors like Etcheverry's baseline grinding style suiting Monte Carlo's slower courts and potential home-crowd boost for Atmane could sway the outcome amid typical spring Mediterranean weather.
