National Weather Service and private model consensus currently favor a high near 98–100°F for Dallas on September 17, with southerly flow, minimal cloud cover, and strong subsidence under high pressure sustaining the late-summer warmth. Recent runs show little change in steering patterns or moisture return, keeping the risk of significant cooling or convective cooling low through the period. Historical September averages near 89°F underscore how anomalous the current ridge remains, while heat-index values above 105°F reflect the combination of temperature and humidity. Traders have priced the 98–99°F bin highest because updated short-range guidance clusters tightly in that range, with only modest upside risk if mixing is stronger than expected or downside if a weak boundary arrives earlier than modeled.
