Current National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance indicates overnight lows in New York City on September 17 will likely settle near 69–71 °F under mostly cloudy skies and southerly flow, limiting radiational cooling. This consensus directly supports the market’s leading 70–71 °F bin at 46 % implied probability. Warmer 72–73 °F outcomes (20 %) remain plausible if cloud cover thickens or if downslope warming persists longer into the night, while cooler 68–69 °F readings (19.5 %) would require clearer skies and lighter winds than currently projected. Historical September climatology for Central Park shows average lows near 61 °F, so the present warm pattern represents a notable positive anomaly that traders are pricing in through real-time model updates expected through the next 48 hours.
