Official forecasts from Singapore’s Meteorological Service and NEA for September 21 point to a daily maximum of 33–34 °C under partly cloudy skies with afternoon thundery showers, aligning with the market’s strong preference for 33 °C. These conditions reflect typical southwest monsoon patterns, where localized convection and higher humidity often limit peak heating near the long-term September average high of 31.6 °C. Recent weeks have seen multiple days above 34 °C, yet the latest model consensus and seasonal outlook favor modest cooling from increased shower activity on the 21st. Traders appear to weigh the high probability of cloud cover and precipitation against the chance of brief clearing that could push readings to 34 °C, producing the observed 61.5 % / 10.5 % split.
