Incumbent Republican Dan Patrick holds a strong lead in the 2026 Texas lieutenant governor race, reflecting his long tenure since 2015, decisive primary victory, and the state's Republican structural advantages. Dan Patrick secured his party's nomination with over 84% of the vote in March, while Democrat Vikki Goodwin, a state representative, advanced after winning her May runoff. Recent polling shows Patrick ahead by single digits in most surveys, though some mid-summer results indicated a tighter contest driven by independent voter shifts. Minor-party candidates including Libertarian Anthony Cristo and Green Party's Kevin McCormick remain on the ballot but draw limited support. With the November 3 general election approaching, trader consensus centers on Patrick's incumbency and fundraising edge as primary drivers of the current implied probabilities.
