Official forecasts from the National Weather Service Dallas/Fort Worth office project a high near 100°F for September 20 under mostly sunny skies with southerly winds of 5–10 mph, producing heat indices up to 106°F amid elevated humidity. Multiple private models align closely on afternoon maxima of 97–100°F, roughly 10–12°F above the late-September climatological average of 88–89°F, while afternoon storm chances remain low enough not to cap the peak. This narrow forecast spread between upper 90s and low 100s underpins the near-even market-implied odds on the 96–97°F and 98–99°F bins, with any late-day convective cooling or slight model adjustments representing the key variables that could shift the final observed high.
