Forecast models from agencies including the South African Weather Service and global ensembles indicate a cold front will bring southeasterly winds gusting above 30 km/h, widespread cloud cover, and showers to Cape Town on September 3, limiting solar heating and holding the daily maximum near 15–16 °C. This represents a notable departure below the early-September climatological average of roughly 18–20 °C. Current short-range guidance shows tight agreement on these values, with only modest spread across ensemble members, supporting the market’s heaviest weighting on the 15 °C and 16 °C outcomes. Updated model runs and official briefings expected in the next 24–48 hours will further refine the exact peak.
