This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 3 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=ksea This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**An incoming early-September Pacific storm is the dominant driver suppressing Seattle's high temperature on September 3, 2026, keeping trader-implied probabilities tightly clustered across the 60–69°F bins.** Official guidance from sources such as the National Weather Service and ensemble models points to widespread cloud cover, periods of rain or showers, and southwesterly flow advecting cooler marine air, limiting daytime solar heating and preventing the typical early-September warming that often produces highs near 73°F. Recent model runs show consistent 60s readings (commonly 62–67°F), with slight variations arising from differences in the timing and intensity of showers, the depth of the marine layer, and any brief afternoon breaks in cloud cover that could allow marginally more insolation. These factors create genuine scientific uncertainty within the narrow 60–69°F window, which is why the market-implied odds remain evenly distributed across those five bins rather than concentrating on a single outcome. Historical analogs for similar early-fall storm patterns reinforce that highs rarely exceed the mid-60s under such conditions, while the low probabilities assigned to 70°F+ reflect the strong consensus against significant clearing or warmer advection before the event passes. Updated forecast discussions and new model cycles over the next 24–48 hours will be the key catalysts for any shifts in positioning.
