These conditions limit solar heating while lake-effect moderation from Lake Michigan and southeasterly flow keep readings from climbing toward the seasonal normal of about 83°F. Model guidance shows tight clustering in the upper 70s to low 80s, with minor differences in timing of any convection or cloud thickness creating the close split between the 78–79°F and 80–81°F bins.
