Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicates a mostly cloudy day with a 40-50% chance of afternoon thunderstorms, supporting highs centered near 85°F amid a pattern of moderating temperatures after earlier heat. Thunderstorm timing and coverage introduce key uncertainty: early or widespread convection can reduce solar insolation and produce evaporative cooling that caps the daily maximum in the low-to-mid 80s, while delayed or isolated activity allows greater boundary-layer heating toward seasonal norms near 84.5°F. Surface moisture, southwest flow, and cloud optical depth further modulate the outcome, with ensemble spread in precipitation onset explaining the tight clustering of market-implied odds around 82-85°F. Updated NWS briefings and high-resolution model runs over the next 48 hours will likely refine these variables ahead of resolution.
