Current forecasts from MetService and international models point to a maximum of 14–15°C in Wellington on September 5, driven by northwesterly winds advecting milder maritime air ahead of a weak front, with partly cloudy skies limiting daytime heating. Historical early-September averages near 13–14°C provide context, yet recent observations of gusty NW flows and variable cloud have kept trader focus on whether clearing conditions or a brief warm spell could push readings to 16°C. Short-term model consensus remains tight around these thresholds, with resolution hinging on precise wind shifts and insolation before any southerly change arrives.
