Persistent southerly flow and a strong mid-level ridge have maintained an unseasonably warm airmass over central Texas, supporting overnight lows in the mid-70s for Austin on September 21. Official National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs converge on minimum temperatures of 75–77 °F, with limited radiational cooling expected under partly cloudy skies and light winds. This outlook explains the tight clustering of market-implied probabilities around the 72–75 °F bins. Subtle differences among leading outcomes hinge on small forecast variations in cloud cover, dew-point advection, and any late-day shower activity that could modestly enhance cooling. Updated model runs and the next NWS forecast discussion will provide the clearest signals for traders assessing whether the low settles near 74 °F or edges lower.
