Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to a daily maximum in the upper 90s for Austin on September 21, driven by a persistent warm, humid air mass with light southerly flow and partly cloudy skies limiting daytime heating. Multiple forecasts converge on 96–98 °F highs, consistent with late-September climatology when average maxima hover near 90 °F but current conditions support slight above-normal warmth without strong frontal passage or significant cloud cover. Heat-index values may reach 105–108 °F, though actual air temperature resolution hinges on afternoon clearing and any late-day convection. Updated NWS briefings and morning model runs on September 21 remain the key near-term catalysts for shifts in trader-implied probabilities.
