President Trump faces a Republican-controlled Congress through the end of 2026, creating major procedural barriers to removal via impeachment or the 25th Amendment. Democratic lawmakers have introduced articles of impeachment in recent months, but these have not advanced amid the current majority. Midterm elections in November will determine the next Congress, which convenes only in January 2027, leaving minimal time for any shift in power to produce removal before the year ends. Trump's approval ratings have declined into the high 30s to low 40s, prompting partisan debate and warnings about future accountability, yet no active proceedings, health crises, or resignation signals indicate an imminent exit. Traders price the current institutional and timeline constraints as the dominant factors supporting strong consensus against early removal.

An announcement of Donald Trump's resignation/removal before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced resignation/removal goes into effect.
Only permanent removal from office will qualify. Temporary removal (e.g. temporary invocation of the 25th Amendment under Section 3 or a Section 4 invocation not sustained by both Houses of Congress) or impeachment without removal will not count.
A sustained invocation of the Twenty-Fifth Amendment, Section 4 (i.e., if both Houses of Congress, by two-thirds vote, uphold the Vice President and Cabinet’s determination of presidential inability) will qualify for a "Yes" resolution.
The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.
