Marco Rubio leads trader sentiment at 61.5% implied probability for the next White House press briefing, reflecting his senior administration role and recent public-facing duties in foreign policy and national security matters. Lower-priced options such as Stephen Miller at 12.5%, JD Vance at 10.5%, and Scott Bessent at 4.5% indicate limited expectations for those figures to handle the briefing rotation in the near term. Numerous other named individuals and "Other" sit near 50%, underscoring market uncertainty over scheduling and potential last-minute substitutions. Primary drivers include standard White House press operations, cabinet-level visibility, and any upcoming diplomatic or legislative events that could shift briefing assignments within the resolution window.

Resolution is based on who actually delivers the briefing from the podium, not on who is listed or announced in advance. If the individual scheduled or announced to give a briefing does not ultimately lead it, this market will resolve to the individual who does. An individual who appears at a qualifying briefing only as a guest, or who speaks only after being introduced by the individual leading the briefing, will not qualify.
For the purposes of this market, a White House press briefing is an event listed on the public White House schedule as a press briefing. Any such briefing will qualify, even if the individual leading it has not been formally announced as the Press Secretary or as an acting or interim Press Secretary. "New Media" briefings and special briefings including additional guests will qualify, so long as the individual leads the briefing.
Impromptu press gaggles, and remarks that are not listed on the public schedule as a press briefing, will not qualify.
If two or more individuals jointly lead the next qualifying briefing, this market will resolve to the individual who speaks first.
If no qualifying White House press briefing occurs by September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".
This market will resolve based on footage of the briefing, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting.
