Early morning observations confirm cool starts near 14-16°C following a late-April cold air outbreak that suppressed temperatures below 20°C through April 22, with high clouds now limiting solar heating and preventing stronger daytime warming. Historical May 1 averages hover near 26°C, reinforcing model consensus. Realistic challenges include unexpected afternoon clearing boosting insolation beyond projections, though current atmospheric stability and ensemble forecast agreement make 29°C improbable; monitor hourly METAR reports from ZHHH for final resolution after midnight.
