Recent price data for prominent Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rares, particularly from sets like Surging Sparks and Ascended Heroes, shows clear downward momentum. Multiple high-profile variants have corrected from recent peaks—such as dips from $320–$576 ranges toward $290–$465 market levels—with TCGPlayer and PriceCharting sales reflecting softer near-mint comps in mid-August. This aligns with typical post-release stabilization in the Pokémon TCG market, where initial collector hype and scarcity premiums ease as supply circulates and broader sentiment cools. No major new set launches, tournament spikes, or viral pop-culture moments appear poised to reverse the trend before month-end. Traders appear to be pricing in continued short-term softening, consistent with historical patterns for chase cards after their debut window.
