Sun's superior recent form, including back-to-back World Cup titles and a lopsided head-to-head edge (28-13 lifetime), built pre-match favoritism, amplified by her consistent pacing and tactical edge in rallies. While official ITTF scoring affirms the outcome, rare scenarios like a successful protest or administrative review could theoretically impact resolution, though none have surfaced.
