Recent model consensus from sources including the China Meteorological Administration points to clear skies and light southeasterly winds sustaining high solar insolation over Chongqing on September 7, with afternoon highs most likely reaching 36–38 °C. The city’s subtropical monsoon climate and basin topography trap heat under stable high-pressure conditions, while low humidity and minimal cloud cover amplify daytime warming. Official outlooks issued in the past 48 hours have held steady in this range, with only modest spread among ensemble members, supporting the market’s emphasis on 37 °C and 38 °C as the leading outcomes. A brief update to guidance is expected within 24 hours that could refine the exact peak.
