Current forecast consensus from multiple models points to a high of 31–33°C in Guangzhou on September 14 amid widespread thunderstorms and thick cloud cover. High humidity, light northerly winds, and convective instability tied to lingering tropical moisture are expected to limit surface heating through reduced insolation and evaporative cooling from rainfall. This aligns with historical mid-September averages near 32°C while introducing day-to-day variability from storm timing and intensity. Model spreads remain modest but could shift with updated runs from agencies like the China Meteorological Administration or global ensembles, particularly regarding exact peak timing and any breaks in cloud cover that might allow a brief push toward 34°C.
