Forecast models and early observations for Los Angeles on September 12, 2026, point to a daytime high near 80°F, aligning with the market's leading 80-81°F bin at nearly 50% implied probability. Persistent morning marine layer and onshore flow from the Pacific moderate temperatures, limiting peak heating despite clear afternoon skies and light winds. This setup matches climatological norms, where the September average high sits at 76°F at official stations, though recent model runs show slight warming from reduced cloud cover. Traders appear to weigh the narrow spread between 80-83°F outcomes against typical daily variability of a few degrees, with resolution hinging on the verified maximum at the primary reporting station. No extreme heat signals or offshore flow have emerged to shift probabilities toward higher bins.
