Incumbent Mayor Gary Sulz’s recent re-election announcement has positioned him as the early frontrunner in Revelstoke’s October 2026 municipal contest, reflecting traders’ emphasis on his two-term record and preference for continuity. Aaron Orlando, the first declared challenger and sitting councillor, has highlighted priorities such as housing, infrastructure, and community engagement since his July announcement, yet the race remains fluid with nominations still open and no finalized candidate list. Nicole Cherlet, the 2022 runner-up, registers limited support consistent with her prior performance and lack of confirmed 2026 bid. With several months until voting and local issues like affordability and growth undecided, the tight spread among contenders stems from limited name recognition for new entrants and the absence of major campaign events or endorsements that could shift voter sentiment before the fall.
