The crowded field of more than two dozen registered candidates for Lima's 2026 municipal election has kept implied probabilities tightly clustered among leading contenders, with no single name exceeding 30% in the market. Recent internal party primaries and alliance formations have produced a fragmented slate featuring established figures such as Francis Allison, Carlos Bruce, Daniel Urresti, and Susel Paredes, alongside lesser-known entrants. The approach of the August 5 deadline for final candidate list publication by electoral authorities has sustained uncertainty, as traders await clearer signals on ballot access and coalition strength. Voter priorities around urban security, transportation infrastructure, and municipal services continue to shape early positioning, while the nonpartisan nature of the contest and historical volatility in Peruvian local races limit early consolidation. Upcoming polling releases or formal campaign launches could shift probabilities as the October election date draws nearer.
