Forecast models from sources including the Hydrometeorological Center and global ensembles indicate Moscow’s overnight low on September 8 will likely fall between 5–8 °C, driven by northwest advection of cooler maritime air behind recent frontal passages and enhanced radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies with light winds. This places the market-implied odds near 5–7 °C in close contention, as small differences in cloud cover, dew-point depression, or boundary-layer mixing can shift the minimum by 1–2 °C. Historical climatology shows an average low near 9 °C, underscoring the current anomaly. Traders are monitoring the next GFS/ECMWF runs and official Russian forecasts for any late adjustments to wind speed or nocturnal cloud trends before resolution.
