**Trader consensus clusters tightly around 7–9°C for Wellington’s overnight minimum on September 19, reflecting MetService’s forecast of 7°C alongside model guidance showing 8–10°C.** Northwesterly flow ahead of a possible southerly change, combined with variable cloud cover and springtime wind mixing, creates the narrow range. NIWA’s seasonal outlook notes near- or above-average temperatures for the Wellington region under El Niño influences, yet occasional cold outbreaks remain possible. Historical September minima average near 8°C, so current model spreads of roughly 2–3°C keep probabilities balanced across the leading outcomes while assigning only marginal odds to extremes below 5°C or above 11°C. Updated MetService and NIWA guidance on the 19th will be the key near-term catalyst.
